A study by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) predicts that at least one year of the five-year period 2022-27, with a 50% probability, will be the warmest of the century with temperatures between 1.5 and 1.8 degrees Celsius. In other words, it will reach the floor of 1.5 degrees and even exceed it... We have run out of time, the situation requires the application of immediate corrective measures on pain of facing the worst consequences of accelerating climate change.
It must be taken into account that if an intercontinental drought occurs for a year, all the great harvests will be lost and, as a result, between 2 and 4 billion human beings will die of hunger, within 3 months of this terminal crisis.
It is necessary to gather the best human resources to ask the right questions and obtain the desired correct answers, in order to take the path from darkness to light and realize the transformation of society and technological civilization in harmony, peace and well-being for all.
Under this premise, the Gaia Team convenes common people, students, professionals, politicians, businessmen, renowned thinkers, scientists and qualified humanists to develop a Master Plan to save the Planet and a new Social Contract with a view to the XXII Century, which contemplates the development of a Type I civilization, with a universal language, Global Government, Global Direct Digital Democracy, International Council of Sciences, Planetary Army, minimum life annuity for the entire population to cope with job replacement by robotics and AI, abolition of extreme poverty throughout the world, stop Global Warming and decontaminate, and ensure peace on all continents.

Impacts at 1.5 and 2 degrees of warming
We must act now!
A few degrees of warming is incredibly significant.
The IPCC’s Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C, released in 2018, warned that allowing the planet to warm by more than 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels would have grave consequences.
The impacts that we are experiencing now at around a 1.1°C rise in average temperature are forerunners of rapidly escalating risks as global temperatures rise towards 2°C and beyond. Time is rapidly running out for humanity to avoid the extremely serious risks of a 2°C or warmer world.

From Eco.MayDay we warn that according to the latest scientific reports, an upcoming inflection point is not ruled out from which positive feedbacks are triggered in a domino effect, causing the hyperacceleration of global warming.
The temperature can increase from 4º to 6º and in 12º C differentials at both poles, leading to an accelerated melting of the great glaciers.
This data is not taken into account by the orthodox report of the IPCC, for this reason the scientific report of the Gaia Team urges us all to establish the new parameters and how much residual time we have left to act.
Building the tools to accelerate media decarbonisation

As part of that effort, GroupM commissioned research from independent specialists in carbon measurement to help create a robust methodology for consistent and accurate carbon measurement across the media supply chain, and to enable targeted interventions to reduce emissions. Once created, the lifecycle assessment methodologies will enable a new carbon calculator to be built. Available for industry-wide adoption, the carbon calculator will set absolute emissions reduction targets and build in vendor-level data where available.

To keep the goal of 1.5 degrees alive, these are some of the actions proposed by MayDay:
• Developed countries should commit to achieving net zero emissions as close as possible to 2030 (currently the pledges are focused on 2050).
• Do not authorize new coal plants and phase out existing ones by 2030. Also, end all public and private international financing of coal.
• Guarantee net zero emissions electricity generation by 2030 for all countries.
• Cease all licensing or financing of new oil and gas products. And stop any expansion of existing oil and gas reserves. A global phase-down of current oil and gas production must also be established.
• Swap fossil fuel subsidies for a just energy transition.
• Executives of all oil and gas companies should present credible, comprehensive and detailed transition plans that include and clearly break down actual emissions cuts by 2025, and efforts to change business models to phase out fossil fuels and expand renewable energy.
• Accelerate efforts to deliver climate justice and promote reforms to ensure that multilateral development banks provide more grants and loans for climate action and fully mobilize private finance. This includes that developed countries agree to approve the Solidarity Green Fund of 2% of annual world GDP to end the triple scourge of hunger, extreme poverty and global warming. In addition, a loss and damage fund should be implemented in the event of climatic catastrophes.

The report must be completed within a period of 90 days. The validation of this report is essential to proceed with the implementation of the Planetary Emergency Plan, which involves applying drastic measures to reduce pollution immediately.

According to the extreme hypothesis of Dr. James Hansen, the breakdown of our planet’s thermal equilibrium could push the entire ecosystem into a phase change, causing intense vaporization of ocean waters, which would result in a greenhouse effect even greater than that of CO2, and an average surface temperature rise to 100º C.
